Shetland Yarn - Natural Fingering

Fingering-weight Shetland yarn is great for warm outerwear like sweaters and cardigans. This yarn was made using the woolen method, which means it's warmer and has a relatively coarse texture compared with our merino and alpaca yarns, which were created using the worsted system. 

Shetland yarn is grown & spun on the Shetland Isles, off the coast of Scotland, where the sheep have developed extra durable wool for dealing with the rough climate. This yarn is non-superwash. Superwashing is a process that makes wool brighter when dyed and sometimes machine-washable, but often involves the disposal of toxic chemicals.
