Love Being Warm
with thoughtfully sourced yarn and knitwear, hand-dyed in Seattle, Washington.
My grandmother made quilts for friends and family, and led a group at church that donated quilts to those in need. At some point, it struck me that on any given night, there were probably a lot of people around the world keeping warm with one of her quilts.
Hate The Cold is about keeping that legacy alive. By handcrafting our products with thoughtfully sourced materials, we strive to offer yarn and knitwear that feels good - and you can feel good about wearing.
Ethics & Sustainability
What does "thoughtfully-sourced" actually mean? At Hate The Cold, it means we look for yarn bases made with materials that have been ethically and sustainably produced, obtain samples from as many sources as possible, and select a variety of yarn bases good for different seasons and garments.
- Ethically produced means no animals are harmed, and workers have fair wages and safe working conditions.
- Sustainably produced means minimizing the environmental impact of the production of a product.
All of our knitwear is also crafted in Seattle on knitting machines using the same yarn we sell.
