Alpaca Yarn - Fluorescent Red Fingering

Our hand-dyed, fingering-weight alpaca yarn is great for lightweight winter garments worn next to the skin, like scarves and jumpers. This yarn was made with fluorescent dye, which glows under a blacklight! Alpaca provides greater insulation than wool but feels lighter and thinner than our merino wool of the same weight, so it will have a looser drape. 

While cashmere is often considered the king of luxury fabric, cashmere that's been ethically produced tends to be very expensive. High-grade alpaca comes closer than any other material to providing the same warmth and softness as cashmere, and Peruvian alpaca production is generally considered ethical and sustainable. Alpaca fiber is warmer and softer than sheep's wool and is naturally water-repellant, fire-resistant, and hypoallergenic.
